As you may know...Carey had his appendix removed! Here's the story~
So here is a perfect example of a bad wife:
Monday night-
husband "My stomach hurts"
wife "You probably have a bug, you'll be fine"
Tuesday-
husband "My stomach really hurts" (as he laid in bed all day, which he never does)
wife "You probably have some sort of flu bug."
Tuesday night-
husband texts "My stomach is killing me. this sucks"
wife "you'll be ok. just come home and get some sleep."
Wednesday morning-
husband "Hey, when you're walking with Paul (best friend, neighbor and ER doctor) to school would you mind asking him about it?"
wife "ok" while thinking..."I hate bugging him! We're always asking some sort of medical question! Ahhh"
Wednesday mroning continued..
On the way back from dropping Julia & Gunner at school, walking with Paul, I casually mention that Carey's stomach is hurting (while laughing a bit). Paul asks if he should come take a look and I say well, ok, if you have the time.. (stil thinking its a bug and thinking that I need to get Lillian to her first day of school). He comes over and immediately says its "text book appendicitis" and he needs to go to the ER now. Ooops.
There can be many morals of this story.. I am still reflecting on it as I bring Carey 3 meals a day on a tray to the bedroom where he has been for 4 days now - after an overnight in the hospital. As ants invaded my home Friday morning, then Lillian puked all over herself, her bed & the floor Friday night..I remember that God doesn't give us more then we can handle. I keep grasping at that as I drown in piles of laundry, stacks of dishes & first week paper work from school.
However, the main thing that keeps popping into my brain is..next time I probably shouldn't say its a "bug."
