HE'S ALIVE!

As you may know...Carey had his appendix removed! Here's the story~
So here is a perfect example of a bad wife:
Monday night-
husband "My stomach hurts"
wife "You probably have a bug, you'll be fine"
Tuesday-
husband "My stomach really hurts" (as he laid in bed all day, which he never does)
wife "You probably have some sort of flu bug."
Tuesday night-
husband texts "My stomach is killing me. this sucks"
wife "you'll be ok. just come home and get some sleep."
Wednesday morning-
husband "Hey, when you're walking with Paul (best friend, neighbor and ER doctor) to school would you mind asking him about it?"
wife "ok" while thinking..."I hate bugging him! We're always asking some sort of medical question! Ahhh"
Wednesday mroning continued..
On the way back from dropping Julia & Gunner at school, walking with Paul, I casually mention that Carey's stomach is hurting (while laughing a bit). Paul asks if he should come take a look and I say well, ok, if you have the time.. (stil thinking its a bug and thinking that I need to get Lillian to her first day of school). He comes over and immediately says its "text book appendicitis" and he needs to go to the ER now. Ooops.
There can be many morals of this story.. I am still reflecting on it as I bring Carey 3 meals a day on a tray to the bedroom where he has been for 4 days now - after an overnight in the hospital. As ants invaded my home Friday morning, then Lillian puked all over herself, her bed & the floor Friday night..I remember that God doesn't give us more then we can handle. I keep grasping at that as I drown in piles of laundry, stacks of dishes & first week paper work from school.
However, the main thing that keeps popping into my brain is..next time I probably shouldn't say its a "bug."

LILLIANS first day of school! My little baby is in Pre-K. Its our last year at the Village Church Nursery School in Rancho and I'm sad! Its where I went to preschool and its been so fun to see my girls there too. My teacher is still there and looks fabulous - that must mean I'm not that old! YAY me!

What today was for me....

1) We got no sleep at all last night due to puking kid.
2) Taking care of still puking kid.
3) Did a photo shoot that I felt sick and dizzy during (sorry for Donald!!)
4) My angel neighbor Donica, rescued me by taking non-puking kid to her house for a looonnnnggg time.
5) Did 5 loads of laundry.
6) Looked through thousands of pictures trying to decide how to update my website.
7) Found out the girl who designed my wbsite lost all login related information for my website when her computer crashed and burned last year.
8) Had someone say to me..."when you become a professional photographer"... what exactly have I been doing for the last 7 years??????
9) Trying to help Julias teacher design a t-shirt for field day.
10) Borrowed wonderful neighbors steam cleaner and attempted to clean my non-kid-friendly fabric. hmmm...not so good.
11) Taking Julia to ER. Probably just a stomach flu, but, can't take a chance of course.
12) Waiting for mom to arrive to watch Lil.......
13) Is it time for bed yet??!! AHHHHHHH!!!!!

So we got a naked cat...

like the one from Austin Powers. It felt so very wierd...like sand papery skin over bones... And the tail!! It looked like a rats tail!
The explanation is - Julia has very bad allergies. (We tried a regular cat and it was no good for her & a dog, no go... so then the naked cat was supposed to be better for people with allergies.)The breeder was sweet enough to let us take home the kitty, which we named Naked, and see how Ju did with him. Well, not good is the answer. She is so allergic. And frankly, I'm glad in this case!! But, I'm sad cause I too want a kitty so bad!! Anyone have an extra $7,000 for the genetically altered hypo-allergenic kitty?

How's your Aspen?

I had such am awesome vacation in Aspen. Oh the glory. Gods creations are truly breathtaking. The purity of freshly fallen snow, the quite it creates, is unparralled. It has been several years since I've been in the middle of it. I love it so very much. It snowed every day I was there, the town was super busy & I was by myself! (at least a bit!) I went during the X-Games which was super cool to see. I went to Buttermilk Mountain to check it out. It was very impressive. The only problem was that everyone else around was, oh, about 14. Since I am more then doouble that my self-esteem was a bit dampened, but oh well.

My bro met me for 2 days. We snowboarded together for the first time in many years (maybe 10 years). He is so very easy to be with. I miss him so much - every day. I am blessed to have him in my life. LOVE YOU REG!!!

All in all - it was a much needed break. I came back with a whole new rope (since I was at the end of my old one). I can't wait to go back & really pray this could be a yearly escape for me???

Lillians 4th Birthday

My little Lillian turned 4 Jan 25th. Its hard to say that my youngest is now 4! We had a week long celebration starting with a family trip to Disneyland, then family dinner at Pat & Oscars, then another family dinner at Mama Dru's. Hope shes not disappointed next year when its just one day!!! The picture with Julia - no she does not have prescription glasses. Those are her favorite thing to wear. She has worn them days in a row - all day... poor kid, she'll need them soon enough with blind parents like us (oh wait, thats right, I got the laser eye surgery and I CAN SEE NOW!!!!!!)

This is Mama with little Lil. The kids are always so very happy to spend time with Mama. They love her so much - so do I!!
